Introduction

You probably would not expect so, but even the biggest speech contains lots of silence. There are various sorts of silence.

During a speech we intentionally make pauses. This can be necessary to breathe, but sometimes there is a special purpose, which we call timing.

And there are more kinds of silence in speech.
